A negative of a negative: The Carrara marble forms were derived from a harvest of amaranth seeds, a process in which I used a large shallow wooden bowl. To take the seeds out of its hull, they were tossed about in the air creating positive and negative spaces as they landed on the bowl whilst hitting an indefinite pressure of air. The results, a mercurial bed of seeds with a thin layer of pink hulls above the weighty amaranth seeds on a concave surface. The shapes were beautifully composed, at random.
