MAKE USE with Join Design for ICFF NYC - May 21-24, 2017 Booth #233 at the Javits Center, in New York.
A collection of objects for the home that celebrate the harmony between form and function through the marriage of materiality and process, craft and purpose. This curated collection of objects embrace raw materials, celebrate the maker's hand, and honor the everyday. A group of independent studios have designed objects that connect the user, to the maker, material and process. Make Use celebrates the raw honesty, simple straightforwardness, and beauty in utility associated with West Coast Craftsmanship.
Cypress and Marble: When we strip away the essence of a single natural material using modern fabrication and construction methods, the origin of the piece is unrecognizable. This piece utilizes a single tree trunk, meticulously carved to house books. It is presented in its raw state, unfinished, showing off the rings. It will naturally patina over time through use.
